Traders warned

CUDDALORE: District Collector Rajendra Ratnoo has warned of strict action against chemical fertilizer traders indulging in malpractices.

In a statement released here on Monday, the Collector said if traders or distributors hoaded or sold fertilizers above government notified prices, or refusing to give payment receipts, they would be prosecuted as per the Fertilizers Control Act and the Essential Commodities Act.

Any variations in prices could be reported to the Joint Director (Agri), Cuddalore, and the respective Assistant Directors (Agri) in the taluks, Mr. Ratnoo added.
