Three arrested

The North Chennai Beach police on Monday arrested three persons and recovered 700 grams of heroin, worth Rs.70 lakh in the international market, from them. Based on a tip-off, police arrested Jaffer (52) of Manali. Police said their investigations led them to two of his associates — Shekar (42) and Lakshmi (53) — who were staying at a lodge in Anna Nagar. They are said to be from New Delhi.
