There is an immediate need for more industrial estates to be developed in and around Chennai. With global interest in Chennai, the spin-off effect is also high. We are working with major manufacturers to increase exports and value-added products to increase growth. There should be planned development with an emphasis on micro units. The estates are employment hubs. Housing facilities, and good schools and hospitals need to be developed near the estates.
