Coimbatore: The Special Court on Wednesday will sentence 70 accused found guilty of major charges in the Coimbatore serial blasts cases, including Al-Umma founder leader S.A. Basha and its general secretary Mohammed Ansari. The court on October 18 had said that it would announce the exact date of pronouncement of sentences on October 22 as there was delay in photocopying the judgment (for the accused) owing to frequent disruptions in power supply.
After evaluating the progress of the work in the last few days, court sources indicated that the pronouncement of sentences would resume as scheduled on October 24. — Staff Reporter
