Mumbai: Chairman of the national selection committee Dilip Vengsarkar said leg-spinner Piyush Chawla has replaced left-arm spinner Murali Kartik in the India Green team for the N.K.P. Salve Challenger series limited-overs tournament to be played at Ahmedabad from October 25 to 28.
Kartik has been busy playing since the start of England’s county season and the decision to exempt him from playing the Challenger series was taken before the seventh one-day international against Australia.
An ankle injury had kept Chawla out of the Future Cup series between India-Australia. — Special Correspondent
