Jawan found dead in Army camp at Jammu
Jammu: A jawan on Monday allegedly committed suicide by hanging himself from a ceiling fan at a camp here. The 40-year-old havaldar, Bala Prasad of Signal Company, was found hanging in his room in the Bari Brahamana Army Camp, a defence spokesman said. The jawan hailed from Banda area of Uttar Pradesh. A Court of Inquiry had been ordered into the incident.
A woman allegedly committed suicide by jumping into the Chenab river in Chanderkote area of Ramban district on Monday. The body has not been recovered so far.
Also, two persons were reported missing from Jammu and Kishtwar districts.
Nazia Kousar, 22, wife of Abdul Qayoom of Jammu district, has been missing since September 26. — PTI
