Painting competition on November 24

Thiruvananthapuram: The Hindu-Young World painting competition, being presented by Lotte BooProo, will be held at the Government Women’s College auditorium at Vazhuthacaud here on November 24.

The competition will be held in two categories. The junior category will comprise students from classes IV to VII and the senior category those from classes VIII to X. Students who wish to participate should send their entries so as to reach the Regional General Manager, The Hindu, T.C.No.36/1946(1), Airport Road, Vallakkadavu, Thiruvananthapuram – 695 008 by November 1.

The entries should be based on topics that have already been announced. The topics for the junior category are ‘You and your computer,’ ‘At the swimming pool,’ ‘Visit to a flower garden’ and ‘Kite flying at the beach.’ The topics for the senior category are ‘Boat ride in a river,’ ‘Train crossing a bridge,’ ‘Inside a harbour’ and ‘Helping the handicapped.’

The paintings should be done on white drawing sheet of 26 by 27 cm size and certified by the art teacher or Principal as the work of the student concerned.

The entries should also contain the name, age, class and residential address of the student. They should be accompanied by two BooProo liquid-filled bubble gum mono wrappers.

The entries will be judged at two levels and the students selected for the competition will be intimated individually. They should come to the venue with the intimation letter at their own cost to participate in the competition.

The competition will be held from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Prize distribution will take place at 2 p.m. Prizes will be given to the best three paintings in each category. Consolation prizes will also be given. All the prize winners will be given gift hampers from Lotte BooProo. Participation certificates will be given to all the contestants.
