His SIM recovered from truck driver at Dharwad He was supposed to leave for Goa on October 8 HYDERABAD: The City Police are trying to trace Anil, friend of Feroz Sayed, a software engineer from Chicago, who has been reported missing under mysterious circumstances from the city since October 7. Based on call details verified in Feroz’s SIM that was recovered from a truck driver at Dharwad in Karnataka, it was found that he had made the last call to his friend Anil in Bangalore. When they tried to collect details of Anil, the police came to know that the SIM was purchased in name of Swapnil which could be a fake name. The police managed to trace Feroz’s SIM while tracing outgoing calls. The truck driver found the SIM card in a KSRTC bus at Dharwad and gave it to his brother who, in turn, started using the card on his mobile phone. Checks into hotelThirty-eight-old Feroz Sayed, a native of Pune had come to Hyderabad from Chicago in the first week of October to pursue a course in SAP and checked in a hotel at Gowliguda. On the following day, he went to Golconda Fort and loitered till 6.30 p.m. He later hired an autorickshaw and left the place. “Anil’s mobile phone has been non-functional since October 9. But, we are still trying to trace him with the help of call details of his mobile phone. A special team was already deputed to Bangalore,” a senior police official said on Monday. If Anil is traced, then it will be easy to unravel the mystery behind the missing case. Efforts are on to collect details of travel agents in the city as he has booked a ticket to Goa. He was supposed to leave Hyderabad on October 8, the official added. Police inquiries revealed the software engineer got married three years ago and went to the US with his wife in 2006.
