No surprises

It took just a few hours of heavy rain this week to prove that lakhs spent on repairing roads in the city was a waste of public money. At many places, stormwater loosened the resurfaced stretches. The rain-resistant paving material used on many roads proved no match for the floodwater. The government seems to care little as more funds are poured into road repairs.
