KARUR: Collector T.N. Venkatesh inspected development works being executed under various government schemes in the K.Paramathi Panchayat Union areas of Karur district recently.
He said that development works to the tune of Rs. 1.20 crore were being executed in the Union.
Mr. Venkatesh said that works under the Anaithu Grama Anna Marumalarchi Thittam in Punjai Kalikurichi, Elavanur, Thokupatti, Chinnadarapuram, Thukkachi and Punnam panchayats, with each of the panchayats getting Rs. 20 lakh for executing the works.
At Punnam, the Collector enquired with the Indra Awas Yojana group house scheme beneficiaries on the progress of the works.
Mr. Venkatesh urged the officials to expedite the works that have been taken up considering the monsoon and also the need to bring them to public use.
K.Paramathi Union Commissioner P. Mohanraj, Block Development Officer N. Rajavel, and other officials accompanied the Collector during the visit.
