The concert is in aid of the Comprehensive Trauma Consortium (CTC) Sanjeevini, an accident helpline. The concert would feature almost all genres of Indian music, Mr. Subramaniam told presspersons here on Tuesday. “The two-and-a-half hour concert will feature folk music from different States, classical music, ghazals and even Bollywood music. The proceeds from the concert will go towards CTC Sanjeevini,” he said. Some of the biggest names in the field of music will come together on the same platform for the concert. Artistes such as Gangubai Hangal, Balamuralikrishna, Purna Das Baul Samrat, Dipyendu Das, Kavita Krishnamurthy Subramaniam, Pankaj Udhas, Sikander Khan Langa, Atta Mohamed Langa, Asin Khan Langa, Wadali Brothers and Bindu Seetaa Subramaniam will perform at the concert which will also feature a choir and dancers. “This is the first time that so many artistes from different genres of music are sharing one platform. I have composed two songs for the concert. It will begin with a ‘Percussion Symphony’ and end with ‘Visions of India’, which will feature all the artistes,” he added. On how the event was conceptualised, Mr. Subramaniam said that N.K. Venkataramana, head of CTC Sanjeevini and consultant neurosurgeon had approached him and asked him to organise a concert to raise funds for the consortium. The concert will be held at Gayathri Vihar, Palace Grounds. Passes will be available at all Planet M outlets and at Garuda Mall.
