KOCHI: Life Insurance Agents’ Federation of India has demanded introduction of a pension scheme and setting up of a welfare fund for the agents. A convention of the federation which met here on Tuesday also demanded that a senior agency system be introduced. Secretary General of the federation N. Gajapathi Rao said the insurance sector was facing tough competition. The welfare of the agents should be of prime concern to the insurance company, he said. Addressing the gathering, J. Anil Kumar, Senior Divisional Manager, LIC of India, Ernakulam, said a group insurance scheme was introduced in the division for the benefit of the agents
