Kasaragod bus strike called off

KASARAGOD: The Motor Workers Coordination Committee here has called off the strike it had initiated from Monday afternoon following an attack on a private bus plying between Kerala and Karnataka at Uppala, near the Kerala-Karnataka border, on Monday.

The decision to call off the strike came after discussions held by the Kasaragod deputy superintendent of police with representatives of bus workers unions and bus owners on Tuesday evening.

Bus services between Mangalore and Kasaragod, which had been stopped since Monday noon, would commence from Wednesday morning.
