SC forum protest

KOCHI: The All India Scheduled Castes Reservation Protection Forum will hold a convention here at A.J. Hall on November 5 in protest against extending the Constitutional benefits reserved for scheduled castes to converted Christians and Muslims, the forum representatives said in a press conference.

Vijay Sonkar Shastri, president of the Forum, will inaugurate the convention. A protest march will also be organised.K.V. Madanan, working president of the forum, said that the move by the Centre to extend the benefits while majority of the Scheduled Caste community continued to live in subhuman conditions was unfair.

He said that the protest will continue till the government backed out.
