BANGALORE: On Tuesday, Spice Telecom launched ‘Spice eBerry’ which offers the services of Push Mail technology on all GPRS-enabled mobile phone handsets. With eBerry, the customer can access emails on the move without sophisticated and high-end handsets. The service supports a wide variety of over 240 handset models by different manufacturers. Speaking to presspersons after Kannada actor Prem launched the new service, Spice Chief Operating Officer (Karnataka) Rakesh Singh said the service is as simple as an SMS. ServicesA user can send, receive, read, move and delete mails, at his discretion, on the handset itself. He said apart from receiving and sending regular mails, one can view and edit attachments too. The data on the mobile device is end-to-end protected with highly secure 128-bit AES encryption to ensure data security. Spice Telecome offers eBerry in two versions: enterprise edition for corporates and Internet edition for individuals. eBerry serviceThe eBerry service is available for both prepaid and postpaid subscribers of Spice Telecom. While customers on prepaid connection could avail the facility by paying a rent of Rs. 249 a month with permissible download of 10 MB, those on postpaid could avail tariffs of Rs. 249 (10 MB download), Rs. 499 (300 MB) and Rs. 899 (1.25 GB). Those on the Rs. 899 package have the additional benefit of accessing the Internet.
