This Day That Age
The Madras Government proposes to establish five more industrial colonies in the State with a view to promoting small-scale industries. An industrial colony is being formed at Erode while two other industrial estates are springing up at Guindy and Virudhunagar. All these three projects are expected to be completed and declared open during this financial year. The Industrial Estate at Guindy which is considered a fairly big scheme is expected to cost about Rs. 70 lakhs and will provide for 90 units. Prime Minister Nehru is being requested to declare this estate open during his next visit to Madras.
