Rupee gains 28 paise


MUMBAI: The rupee on Tuesday appreciated significantly to end at 39.5950/6050 against the U.S. currency amid indications that foreign institutional investors may not pull out from local shares after capital market regulator SEBI making it clearer on Monday that capital inflows will not be curbed.

In an active trade at the interbank foreign exchange market, the rupee moved in a range of 39.58 and 39.82 during the day after resuming firm at 39.81/82 from Monday’s close of 39.88/89 a dollar. — PTI
