Simi in lead

NEW DELHI: Simi Mehra shot five birdies and two bogies to post an impressive round of three-under 69 to take a 11-stroke lead on the first day of the fifth leg of the DLF women’s professional golf tour event at the Golden Greens Golf and Country Club in Gurgaon on Tuesday.

Simi was ahead of veteran Nonita Lall Qureshi and Nitika Jadeja, both having posting 80 on the first day.

The scores:

69 Simi Mehra; 80 Nonita Lall Qureshi and Nitika Jadeja, 81 Saaniya Sharma, 82 Anjali Chopra.
