Change of order: Medak district Collector B. Venkatesam greeting the new DIG of Nizamabad range in Sangareddy on Tuesday as R.B. Nayak, Medak SP, looks on. Sangareddy: Even though the Nizamabad range has been incident-free from the past few years, the police would not be complacent in dealing with Maoist violence, said the new DIG Rajaratnam Naidu here on Tuesday. He spoke to the press on the sidelines of a review meeting with the Medak police. He recently took over from Anjani Kumar. He said that Nizamabad has not seen even a single incident of violence since 2001. However, he pointed out that the police would have to be vigilant as the Maoists have started shifting to the towns from their once strongholds of rural areas. The DIG said that his priority would be to curb cross-country terrorism, which has shown its ugly face in neighbouring Hyderabad.
