HYDERABAD: Rejecting the demand for his resignation and seeking fresh elections, Rural Development Minister G. Chinna Reddy has asked senior Telugu Desam leader Nagam Janardhan Reddy to wait till 2009 elections when he will become a “permanent ex-MLA”. People of Nagarkurnool Assembly constituency were sure to reject Dr. Janardhan Reddy in the coming elections and he should, instead, contest against K. Damodar Reddy against whom the former Minister won with a ‘narrow margin’ if he was keen on elections. “I don’t need to contest against Dr. Reddy as he is not senior to me in any respect except for age,” Dr. Chinna Reddy said. Responding to the TDP MLA’s challenge to seek fresh elections, Dr. Chinna Reddy recalled at a press conference here on Tuesday that the Congress wrested the Bijnepally and Midgil ZPTC seats falling under Dr. Reddy’s constituency from the TDP during the by-elections. Mr. Damodar Reddy, the present Mahbubnagar ZP chairman, was prepared to contest against Dr. Reddy if the latter was still insisting on seeking the people’s mandate.
