HYDERABAD: The Government has decided to release water from Sriramsagar project for a limited period from October 26 to November 3 to save the standing crops in the project’s ayacut spread over five districts of Telangana.
During this period, a quantity of 4,000 cusecs of water will be let out into the Kakatiya Canal a day.
Major Irrigation Minister P. Lakshmaiah issued the orders for release of water after reviewing the storage position at a meeting on Tuesday. The dam has a storage of 75.7 tmcft now as against its full capacity of 90 tmcft.
