Vijay Goel let off with warning

Staff Reporter

NEW DELHI: Former Union Minister Vijay Goel was let off with a warning by a Delhi court on Tuesday after he pleaded guilty to the charge of driving a bus without licence. Mr. Goel was booked for driving a Blueline bus on October 10 from the Bharatiya Janata Party headquarters on Ashok Road to the residence of Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit.

Mr. Goel told the court that he resorted to such an act only to draw the attention of the Delhi Government towards the menace of Blueline buses which were killing people with alarming regularity. He also said he was ready to undergo any punishment handed out to him by the court.

Later Mr. Goel said he would resort to such acts in future also if the Government did not pay heed to the problems being highlighted through these acts and make the lives of the people in the Capital better and safer.
