Bangalore: The meeting of the Water Resource ministers, for discussing the development and conservation activities under the water mission scheduled to be held in New Delhi on Tuesday, has been postponed to November 27. It was to be convened by Union Water Resource Minister Saifuddin Soz.
According to sources in Raj Bhavan here, Prime Minister Manmohan Singh cancelled it. The Governor Rameshwar Thakur, who had been to the Capital to attend the meeting, met senior officials in the Union Home Ministry and reminded them of the urgency to release funds for flood relief in the State. The Governor is likely to take up the matter of appointing advisers to him with Home Minister Shivaraj Patil. He is returning to the city on October 26.
Meanwhile, the Janata Darshan, which was cancelled during the week, will resume on Monday.
The sources said that the office is making arrangements for an ambulance and doctors during the darshan.
