The facility, the first of its kind to be introduced by a public sector bank, will offer a single point service to customers willing to open an account with the bank. They will be given ‘welcome kits’ comprising a passbook, a cheque book and an activated ATM within 10 minutes by the customer relation officers concerned. Kits for customersCustomers will then be provided with full-fledged kits consisting personalised ATM, cheque book and other facilities in less than 10 days. Disclosing this at a press conference here on Tuesday, SBH Chief General Manager R.P. Sinha said multi-city cheques would be provided on customers’ request. A similar project was launched by the State Bank of India on an experimental basis, but the SBH would be the first to introduce it in all its branches in the twin cities. As part of technological improvements, the SBH would shortly open centralised clearance processing centres in Aurangabad and Pune. The facility would be extended to Hyderabad later.
