’12 recommendations impossible to implement’ Two proposals sent back to panel for scrutiny HYDERABAD: The Cabinet, at its meeting here on Tuesday, decided to go ahead with the implementation of 90 out of the 104 recommendations made by the Koneru Ranga Rao Committee on land issues. Information Minister A. Ramanarayan Reddy, who briefed the media later, said the meeting, however, had referred two recommendations back to the committee for further scrutiny. It held the rest of the 12 recommendations “as impossible to implement”. The meeting cleared allotment of 750 acres of land at Chintavaram, Ballavolu, Addepalli in Nellore district to MAS Holdings, a Colombo-based company, to set up garment/apparel park. In line with an MoU signed by APIIC with the firm, the latter would have to invest Rs. 1,200 crore and employ 31,000 people. It also cleared allotment of 151 acres at Kudikavala and Kottapalem villages near Tirupati to the Kanchi Kamakoti Peetham and Sri Venkateswara Institute of Medical Sciences at Rs 75,000 per acre.
