Lorries off road for sixth day in Erode

ERODE: For the sixth day in succession, all 150 lorries carrying load to Kerala remained off the road here.

Protesting against the increase in PF subscription for lorry drivers, the Kerala Lorry Owners Association is observing a strike. In support of the stir, lorry owners of Erode district have stopped services to Kerala. Movement of commodities such as oil, eggs and poultry products has been affected.

Goods worth more than Rs.75 crore have piled up with the merchants. — Staff Reporter
