Opportunity for youngsters to display their talent NEW DELHI: For all youngsters in the Capital who consider their paintbrushes and easels virtual extensions of their body, “The Hindu Young World Painting Competition” finals to be held at 14 centres across the country on November 24 and 25 will provide an ideal opportunity to showcase their talents. All that the young artists need to do now is mail one of their paintings on one of the listed topics, after getting it attested by their art teacher or principal, to the Regional General Manager, The Hindu, 3rd Floor, PTI Building, 4 Parliament Street, New Delhi-110001. Entries will be judged at two levels -- Junior Level (Class IV to VII) and Senior Level (Class VIII to X). The topics for the paintings to be submitted by the juniors are: “You and your computer”, “At the swimming pool”, “A visit to a flower garden” and “Kite flying at the beach”. For seniors, the topics are: “Boat ride on a river”, “Train crossing a bridge”, “Inside a harbour” and “Helping the handicapped”. The painting should be 26 cm by 27 cm. It should reach The Hindu by November 1. Based on the submitted paintings, selected candidates will be asked to appear for the final competition.
