Corporation sets deadline for road repairs

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The repair works on the damaged roads under the jurisdiction of the Thiruvananthapuram City Corporation will be completed before November 10, it was decided at a meeting of officials held here on Tuesday.

Mayor C.Jayan Babu convened the meeting to review the progress of the repair works in the 86 wards.

Officials informed the meeting that the work had been tendered after dividing the city into five zones. An amount of Rs.88.92 lakh had been set apart for the repair works.

Officials were directed to complete the patchwork in the Vettucaud and Kannanthura wards before the Vettucaud church festival got under way.

Chairman of the works standing committee K.Rajasekharan Nair, Corporation engineer K.P. Mathew and other officials from the Engineering Division attended the meeting.
