New strides: Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan laying the foundation stone of the Rs. 963-crore industrial-cum-agrotech project of Trident Group at Budhni near Bhopal on Wednesday.

BUDHNI: The Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister, Shivraj Singh Chauhan, on Wednesday said that industrialisation had gained fresh momentum in Madhya Pradesh and the State was now taking giant strides.

Mr. Chauhan was laying the foundation for an industrial and agro-tech project being set up here by Trident Group’s Abhishek Industries.

The Chief Minister said there was nothing to stop Madhya Pradesh from moving on the road to progress. It had already shed the BIMARU State tag and would soon be counted among the most developed States of the country, he added.

Mr. Chauhan said the MoUs signed at the Khajuraho Investors’ Meet in January this year had started taking a concrete shape. Abhishek Industries had signed an MoU on January 15 at Khajuraho for this project, he added. Mr. Chauhan said Madhya Pradesh was witnessing an industrial revolution which would create new employment avenues for the youth. The textile industry at Budhni would create 3,000 jobs, he said, and went on to ask the Trident Group to set up a technical institute at Budhni to impart training to the local youth. This would provide trained technical manpower to meet the requirements of the industry.

The industry would provide a good market to the farmers, the Chief Minister said and gave the assurance that arrangements for railway wagons would be made for movement of fruits and vegetables to Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata and Chennai. He expressed the hope that the proposed sugar factory of Abhishek Industries would improve the economic condition of the farmers.

The Chief Minister said that the farmers have been paid compensation at the market rate for the 700 acres of land acquired from them for this industry. The industrial complex being set up at Budhni would open up new vistas of development in the area.

The State Minister for Industries, Jayant Malaiya, said adequate availability of land and electricity and other infrastructural facilities had created a favourable atmosphere for investment in Madhya Pradesh.

The Chairman of Abhishek Industries, S.K. Tuteja, lauded the approach of the State Government saying that it had extended full cooperation. The textile industry would have 2 lakh spindles and it would be the largest spinning mill in a single premises.
