New Delhi: The Delhi High Court on Wednesday reserved judgment on senior advocate R K Anand’s application seeking review of its previous order rejecting his plea for recusal of Justice Manmohan Sarin from hearing contempt proceedings against him for allegedly influencing a witness in the BMW hit-and run case.
A Bench comprising Justice Manmohan Sarin and Justice Madan B Lokur, after hearing the arguments of Mr. Anand and advocate Arvind Nigam, appointed as amicus curiae, reserved the order.
Mr. Justice Sarin, on October 4, had refused to recuse himself while the other Judge on the Bench, Justice S K Mishra, did not concur with him but at the same time added that he was not expressing any opinion in the matter, one way or the other.
After Mr. Justice Mishra opted out in the matter, Mr. Justice Madan B Lokur joined Mr. Justice Sarin to hear the matter.- PTI
