Pensioners’ dharna on October 30

HYDERABAD: Members of the AP All-Pensioners’ Association, who are opposed to privatisation of the pension scheme, will hold a dharna at Indira Park here on October 30, expressing solidarity with the Central/State Government staff who are going on a day’s strike that day. In a press release on Wednesday, the office-bearers of the association described the new pension scheme as “highly risky”. It would deny the pensioners old age security, it said. –Special Correspondent
