Vijaya Bank nets profit of Rs. 216.6 crore

BANGALORE: Vijaya Bank has posted a net profit of Rs. 216.6 crore for the first six months of the financial year as on September 30, which is 23.8 per cent more than the profit of Rs. 174.96 crore made during the corresponding period last year.
According to a release here on Wednesday, the bank’s total business has increased by 33.73 per cent, from Rs. 51,581 crore to Rs. 68,980 crore. Deposits have increased by 31.98 per cent, from Rs. 31, 952 crore to Rs. 42,169 crore. Advances have registered a growth of 36.59 per cent from Rs. 19,629 crore to Rs. 26,811 crore.
The bank’s operating profit for the period was Rs. 315.82 crore.
