Relief for power consumers

JAIPUR: The Rajasthan Government has provided a relief of Rs.2,000 to electricity consumers in cities seeking new domestic connections and also reduced the connection rates for industrial power consumers.

According to an official release here, a flat rate of Rs.3,000 would be charged now for new connections in the urban areas. Earlier the connection fee, divided in two categories, was Rs.5,000. The previous rates of Rs.2,000 for slum-dwellers, Rs.1,500 for rural consumers and Rs.750 for the Tribal Sub-Plan region remain unchanged.
