Letters to the Editor
Hats off to Karan Thapar who exposed Mr. Modi. The Gujarat Chief Minister was uncomfortable from the very beginning of the four-and-a-half minute interview. It proved to be more embarrassing for him than his six-year rule in Gujarat. Mr. Modi frittered away an opportunity to regret the state-sponsored pogrom because of his hesitation to change his hardcore Hindutva image. Syed Abbas Haider, New Delhi
Mr. Thapar’s penchant for asking provocative questions is well known. Many, including Benazir Bhutto and Lady Pamela, handled him admirably well. Mr. Modi’s distaste for intellectuals and secularism seems to have let him down. Baikadi Suryanarayana Rao, Bangalore
