Chadalawadas ‘scale new heights’

Staff Reporter

A variety of thoughts put in a capsule

VIJAYAWADA: S. Srinivasulu Reddy, director of Medversity in Hyderabad, has observed that it is essential to make a mixture of a scholar and a common man in order to decipher and disseminate knowledge.

He was speaking after releasing a book ‘Scaling New Heights’, compiled by Chadalavada Nageswara Rao and Chadalavada Sudha and published by Alakananda Prachuranalu, the publication wing of Ashok Book Centre, here on Wednesday.

Dr. Reddy complimented the couple for their thoughtful decision to share their knowledge with their students and others.

Dr. Reddy said that the book was a variety of fascinating thoughts put in a capsule. “Every little chapter is complete in itself. It can be opened any time and read at random. The contents may seem simple but it will take a long time to sink in,” he said.

S. Bala Parameswara Rao, honorary consultant in neuro surgery to the Nizam’s Institute of Medical Sciences (NIMS), said he had gone through the book page by page and found it ‘lucid’ and ‘interesting’. “Such books should be kept under pillow and used as often one can lay their hands on it as possible,” he opined. Stating that the publisher was as important as the writer of the book, he said factors like the ‘manner’ in which something was presented could be more important than the actual ‘matter’.

Giving an introduction of the book, senior journalist C. Raghavachari said that by means of this compilation, the couple had tried to expose their students to several noble aspects of life. “A classroom need not be essentially an academic arena. Students must be made to learn the human aspects as well,” Mr. Raghavachari maintained.

Vice-Chancellor of Dr. NTR University of Health Sciences A.V. Krishnam Raju presided over the meeting.
