Acid attack

A person allegedly threw acid on his estranged wife after barging into the house of her parents at Ghansibazar in Charminar here on Wednesday.

The victim Shruthi, 18, sustained burns on her

back and is undergoing treatment at a Government hospital.

Unidentified persons damaged the statute of B.R. Ambedkar at Dharmmannaguda village of Yacharam mandal in neighbouring Ranga Reddy district after Tuesday midnight, leading to tension in the area.
