50 firms to take part in iSec 2007

Special Correspondent

CHENNAI: Around 50 major players will take part in iSec 2007, a two-day exhibition- cum-conference to be organised by the Southern India Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SICCI) here, on October 26 and 27.

Social Welfare Minister Poongothai Aladi Aruna will inaugurate the event, which will showcase latest trends, threats and technology in data and network security from the leading players.

Talking to reporters here on Monday, SICCI president M. Balasubramaniam said: “The conference would be a great boon for all IT&ITES companies as India is the second fastest growing IT security market in the Asia Pacific region. Therefore, this conference is aimed at creating awareness of the need for protecting sensitive information from unauthorised disclosure or intelligible interception.”

The event is supported by the State Government and ELCOT.
