Woman held

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: A 35-year-old woman was arrested by the Vattiyoorkkavu police on Wednesday for allegedly stealing gold ornaments weighing 11 sovereigns and valued at Rs.67,000 from a residence at Sasthamangalam where she was working as a domestic help.
The accused is a resident of Kudappanakkunnu.
Heroin seizure: 3 held
The Central Narcotics Bureau, on Monday, seized 610 gm of heroin valued at Rs.60 lakh from a hotel near Government Medical College here.
The police said on Wednesday that the heroin was slated to be shipped to the Maldives by Abdullah, a resident of the country. Abdullah along with Arul, a native of Tamil Nadu, and Mahesh, a native of Gujarat, were arrested from the hotel.
