Juvenile delinquents escape from remand home

PATNA: Fifty-four juvenile delinquents have escaped from a remand home here in less than a week.

The inmates had alleged that they were not being given proper food and medicines. They jumped the walls in groups. A group of five ran away on October 19 and another of 10 on Monday. On Tuesday, 39 delinquents escaped.

The security guards said they were beaten up by the inmates when they tried to stop them.

Two security personnel have been suspended on the charge of dereliction of duty.
