Farmer struck dead by lightning

VILLUPURAM: Murugaiyan (54), a farmer, was struck dead by lightning at Ka. Kuppam near here on Wednesday.

He was on his way home from a farm.

The body was, later, taken to the Villupuram Government Hospital for post-mortem.

Flow into the Gomukhi dam at Kallakurichi has increased following heavy rain in the Kalvarayan Hills. The level in the dam stood at 30 ft against the maximum level of 46 ft on Thursday. The Manimutharu dam is also receiving substantial inflow.
