Patna: Union Railway Minister and RJD supremo Lalu Prasad on Thursday dismissed allegations that he was misusing official resources for mobilising support for his party’s proposed ‘Chetawani Rally’ here on October 28 and said special trains had been arranged to carry supporters. “There is absolutely no substance in these allegations. Special trains have been booked for the rally and the Railways is earning a lot in terms of revenue,” he said adding the trains had been arranged for ferrying rallyists as large parts of the State were still flooded. “As a Railway Minister, I know what to do what not to do,” Prasad told PTI in an interview while referring to the State’s ruling NDA’s charge of misusing the resources of the Railways and the Central Government using helicopter of Indian Air Force to canvass people’s support for the rally. “In fact, the NDA leaders are indulging in a vilification campaign against me and my RJD because of my untiring efforts to keep the communal and fascist forces at the bay,” Mr. Prasad said. “The successive profits earned by the Railways during the past two years have also angered my adversaries,” he said. Referring to Nitish Kumar Government’s performance, Mr. Prasad alleged people were fed up with the empty promises being made the Chief Minister Nitish Kumar. -- PTI
