Mr. Solomon Bandaranaike, Ceylon Prime Minister, on October 24 appealed for admission of China into the United Nations so as to make that body truly representative of the world community. Speaking at the 12th anniversary celebrations of the United Nations organised in Colombo by the local United Nations Association, the Prime Minister said he was unable to understand why the People’s Republic of China which comprised one-fifth of the world’s population together with some other countries should be excluded from the United Nations.
