This Day That Age
Mr. C. Subramaniam, Education Minister, on October 24 exhorted students of science and technology not to rest content with obtaining diplomas and securing employment but to discover new avenues of knowledge and invent new machines that could be used for the benefit of mankind. Mr. Subramaniam was presiding over the Founder’s Day celebration of the Madras Institute of Technology in Chromepet and recalled the “great vision in respect of future needs of the country” with which the founder, Mr. C. Rajam, had established the Institute. All the students passing out of it had got employed immediately. The four faculties founded in the institute had been designed to suit the needs of the country.
