Burglary in jewellery shop

SRIVILLIPUTTUR: Unidentified men broke into a jewellery shop and looted jewels worth Rs.1 lakh here on Wednesday night.

The police said that the culprits broke open the iron shutters after the shop, located on Nethaji Road, was closed at 10.30 p.m. on Wednesday.

The crime came to light only on Thursday morning.

The owner, K. Vetriappan (42), has lodged a complaint with the Srivilliputtur Town police.
