The audacious marriage of matinee idol Chiranjeevi’s second daughter Srija and the subsequent drama on television channels by his brother and actor Pavan Kalyan came as a boon to the television news channels even if some of them dithered initially.
While the episode was obviously traumatic for Chiranjeevi and his family, the antics of his brother before the cameras, first with his weapon and later, emotionally announcing formation of a protection force was pretty thick.
His own record, revolver toting scene before the Jubilee Hills Police, seething anger at the mention of his niece’s husband, belied all the principles he was preaching. While the couple have sought forgiveness and acceptance from the family from New Delhi, through TV channels again, a happy ending is yet to appear on the horizon.
