CHENNAI: A three-day southern regional workshop for Judges of High Courts and judicial officers of the subordinate judiciary will be held in Chennai from November 3.
Organised jointly by the National Judicial Academy and the Tamil Nadu State Judicial Academy, the meeting will discuss various issues, including techniques and tools for enhancing timely justice, say court sources. Work management, case management, punctuality and the need to achieve better case disposal rate will also be discussed.
Participants from other Southern States will comprise Judges of High Courts and District Judges.
From Tamil Nadu even sub-judges and judicial magistrates will take part, say the sources.
Chief Justice of India Justice K.G. Balakrishnan and Supreme Court Judges Justices S.B. Sinha, R.V. Raveendran, V.S. Sirpurkar and P. Sathasivam are scheduled to address the participants.
Among the other resource persons and special invitees are former Chief Justice of India J.S. Verma and former Judge of the Supreme Court Justice K.T. Thomas.
Former Chief Justice of Karnataka High Court Justice V.S. Malimath and Justice Madhan Lokur of the Delhi High Court will also attend, the sources say.
