CHENNAI: Speakers at a management symposium stressed the importance of information technology tools in tackling the challenges in the human resources industry.
“HR should scale up by using the IT to meet the specific needs of various industries, especially the IT and IT Enabled Services and the BPO, without loosing the personal touch with employees,” Sreeram Iyer, Chief Executive Officer, Scope International, said while inaugurating the two-day symposium on “Human Resources in the Transformational Era” organised by the Loyola Institute of Business Administration here on Thursday.
Mr. Iyer listed attracting, training and rewarding an employee as major challenges and called for building leadership within the organisation.
Sridhar Ganesh, Director, Human Resources, Murugappa Group, said it was interesting to note human resources experts speaking about value proposition for business and the emerging trends in outsourcing in the changing management scenario.
Fr. P. Christie, Director, LIBA, said the sessions at the symposium would provide extraordinary leadership experience that would help to add better value to the business development. Fr. Amal Kulandaisamy, Rector, Loyola College and Vice-Chairman, Governing Council of LIBA; K. Gowrishankar, Dean, LIBA; and Paul Abner, conference secretary, spoke.
