GREETINGS: Finnish Minister for Foreign Trade and Development Paavo Vayrynen with Higher Education Minister K. Ponmudy at the Secretariat on Thursday.
CHENNAI: The Finnish business delegation has stressed the need for a direct flight between Chennai and Helsinki in view of the growing relationship between Tamil Nadu and Finland.
It held a meeting with representatives of the State Government, led by Higher Education Minister K. Ponmudy, here on Thursday.
The State Government team said it would render all possible support to achieve the aim of a direct flight between Chennai and Helsinki.
Members of the Finnish delegation, led by Minister for Foreign Trade and Development Paavo Vayrynen, expressed satisfaction with their experiences in India and said many more were considering Tamil Nadu as a possible destination.
Industries Secretary Sakthikanta Das made a presentation on the facilities the State could offer Finnish investors.
The delegation wanted to partner the State Government to set up a technical training institute.
