BANGALORE: Four persons were killed on the spot when a goods vehicle by which they were travelling rammed a stationary lorry in Soolebele police station limits in Hoskote taluk of Bangalore Rural district in the early hours of Thursday. The police said that around 3.30 a.m., the tomato-laden vehicle, which was coming towards Bangalore from Chintamani in Chikkaballapur district, hit the lorry near Chokkanahalli Gate. The dead were identified as H.M. Bayyya Reddy (36), Konappa (25), Venkatarayappa (55) and Gangaraju (27), all farmers from Hanumaiahgarahalli in Chintamani taluk. The driver of the goods vehicle, Manjunath, was injured and he had been admitted to a hospital, the police said. The Soolibele police have registered a case. In another incident, Rangaraju (28), a van driver, was killed after the van rammed another vehicle on Bangalore-Mysore highway early on Thursday. The police said the accident occurred near Mayaganahalli in Ramanagra district. Rangaraju, a native of Rathanapuri in Mysore, was on his way to his cousin’s marriage. The Ramangara traffic police have registered a case. BurgledBurglars struck at a third floor flat in a posh apartment complex in Kaggadasapura and looted gold ornaments worth Rs. three lakh. The police said the theft took place at Leela’s flat in Angel apartment when she had been to Kottayam in Kerala for three days. Wall collapseSumera Parveen (20), a final year B.Com student, was killed and her two friends were injured after a wall collapsed on them near the Government First Grade College in Ramanagara on Wednesday afternoon. The incident occurred when Sumera, a resident of Yarabnagar, was returning home from the college. SuicideLakshmamma (40) committed suicide by hanging herself at her house on Sumangai Sevashrama Road in Hebbal police station limits on Wednesday night. The police said that she took the step after a quarrel with her husband Kannappa.
