‘Science in everyday life’

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The annual Science Fair of the Christ Nagar School, Thiruvallam, began here on Friday with a formal inauguration by G. Balagangadharan, Scientist and group head, Vikram Sarabhai Space Centre (VSSC).
The theme of this year’s fair is `Science in everyday life’.
The event served as a platform for students to display their talent. The exhibits included a magnetic crane, a robot for space expeditions and models explaining the occurrence of a tsunami and the mummification of bodies in ancient Egypt.
At the valedictory function to be held in the evening, Dr. Ajayghosh, Deputy Director, National Institute of Interdisciplinary Science, and Technology (NIIST) distributed prizes to the best exhibits.
